been around for a lot
longer (since 1996),

businesses such as Quicken,

The idea behind the
Homestead website builder
was that they wanted to
create an easy platform for
small business owners so
that they could create their
own ecommerce websites
with minimal fuss and with
no need to know any
HTML.
Without doubt they have
achieved this goal.
Homestead websites are
created using drag and
drop software and are
extremely easy to
customize in any way you
want. It's the simple and
easy to use format that
makes Homestead the
perfect choice for those
new to website design.
There are over 2,000 ready
made templates to choose
from, so it's not a case of
having to start from scratch

been using Intuit's
Homestead software for
my website design and
hosting for a few years now
and I'm totally in love with
it. If you're ready to build
your first personal or
business website and jump

I'd wholeheartedly
recommend Homestead's

hosting solution to you.
Using Intuit Homestead
is the Best Way to Create
a Website
In September of 2008 I was
a complete beginner and
was also looking for the
best way to build my own
business website, but I was
in the same situation as
most wannabe internet
business start ups:
1. I didn't know any
HTML.
2. I couldn't afford
Dreamweaver
software.
3. I couldn't afford to
pay someone to
create my site for
me.
Despite these obvious
negatives I knew it was time
to take my business idea
seriously and stop playing
with the idea of having my
own business website. I'd
already wasted lots of time
with some of the free

and gotten nowhere fast
with them - so what

non tech savvy person such
as myself?

key phrase for me. If you
can use MS Word then you

Cheaply - If you want

My second website only
cost an initial $10 for
domain registration and
now only costs a few
dollars per month for
hosting etc.
The Homestead website
building system has so
many features, that are all
so easy to use, that it's hard
to fault it. It has everything
I wrote down in my
"website wish list" plus a
great deal more. I have
used their GOLD service ($
24 per month) since
September of 2008 and my
first website is on page one
of Google's search results
for many of my keyphrases
and receives over 20,000
page views per month and
rising.
Cons of Homestead's
Sitebuilder
It's only fair when writing a
review to include the
downsides. The only cons I
can come up with are that
you have to add your own
heading tags (H1, H2 etc)
which is done very easily
using the add HTML
function. (Any problems
just let me know and I'll
show you how to do it.)
The other con is that there
is no "master page" which
you can then use as a
template for all your
pages' layouts. It's easy
enough to get around this
by creating one page
exactly how you want it
and then grouping the
elements, copying them
and pasting them onto
your other pages.
Three Pricing & Package
Options
You can upgrade,
downgrade, or cancel your
service at any timethere are
no penalties or long-term
contracts.
Spread the Cost of your
Website
Homestead offers three
price plans for you to
choose from.
Starter Package
For those looking for a
small personal website,
then the Starter package
will probably be the best
option. At $4.99 a month
it's extremely cheap and
you will get all the features
that you need. The
downside with this package
is that you only get a
subdomain. It will be
mysite.homestead.com,
(you change "mysite" to
the name you want to give
your website). If you really
want your own domain,
www.mysite.com, then the
Gold or Platinum packages
are the ones to look into.
Gold Package
If you're thinking about
creating a business website
then the Gold Package
option is highly
recommended. You get
your own domain name,
up to 100 pages and of
course the website hosting
too. By paying around $24
a month you can spread
the cost of your website
over a year, which makes it
a far more affordable
option for many of us
starting out in our own
business than coughing up
a large lump sum. (It's even
cheaper than this right now
as price plans are on offer
and set up fees waived.)
It's an investment that pays
for itself very quickly. By
the time your business
website has been up and
running for a few months
and you are getting found
by customers, you will
easily be recouping your
monthly cost either
through selling your
products or services or
through adsense revenue.
$290 dollars per year for a
fully functioning website
and hosting is about as
cheap as it gets when you
consider that you'd be
paying $500 minimum for
someone to create just a
basic 5 page website for
you. If you're still
undecided, remember you
can try it FREE for 30 days
and if you don't like what
you get (which I doubt very
much) you can opt out
without any hassle at all.
