UNLOCK PHONE LOCKS

Phone Lock
Lock your phone when you
are not using it. Press and
hold the sleep wake
button on the edge of the
phone to enter a lock
mode. In general settings
you can automatically
adjust your phone to lock
within 1 to 3 minutes if
there's no activity
WiFi
Turn off Wifi and 3G unless
you need to browse the
internet. You can switch off
Wifi under the general
settings and 3G under the
network tab. You can
switch both off when you
don't need them. When it's
time to browse, choose one
or the other, you don't
need them both on at the
same time.
Software Update
Keep your iPhone up to
date. Software upgrades
keep your phone
performing at the highest
level thereby extending
your iPhone battery life.
GPS
Limit GPS interactive maps
and tracking. You can turn
this off by going to general
settings and turning
location services off. Use
mapping apps only when
you need it.
iPhone Games
If you are a gamer, you like
playing games on your
iPhone - you best are
aware that this consumes
battery rapidly. You can
turn off the vibration
feature in the games
options menu, this will
preserve the life of the
battery tremendously.
Airplane Mode
Use Airplane mode which
you can find under settings
when you are in a place
with minimal cellular
coverage, this turns of all
automatic search and
allows you to use non
wireless features and
extend the battery even
further.
Email Access
Manually check your mail.
Automatic mail message
retrieval eats battery
power, you can change this
by going to settings, mail,
contacts and calendars and
then fetch new data,
change this to manual, also
turn off any unnecessary
additional mail accounts
you don't use that often.
Battery Extender
If you are willing to spend
some cash, buy an external
battery extender, most of
these slide unto the back
of your phone easily and
are around 120 dollars a
pop.
Brightness
Dim the brightness of your
iPhone screen, go to
settings and then
brightness, drag the slide to
the left until you are
satisfied with the brightness
of the display.
Sunlight and Heat
Keep your phone out of
direct sunlight and never
leave your phone in the car
on a hot day. Heat is your
battery's worst enemy.
Charge your iPhone fully
Run your iPhone through a
full charge cycle at least
once a month to sync the
battery with its fuel gauge
and with its state of charge
essentially reminding the
battery of its full capacity.
To do this charge the
battery till its 100% charged
then use the phone until
the battery is completely
drained. You can view
information about your
battery usage in the
settings icon. You will see
stats including how long
your iPhone has been
running since its last
charge.
I hope you find these tips
useful. Get rid of those
horrible words "Low
Battery" now and your
iPhone battery will surely
last you a long time. More
