Everyone wants to tell you
what to do in Google
Adsense. They think they
have the best ideas about
everything, from keywords
to CTR. Everyone thinks
they have the best ideas,
but a LOT of people are
really not successful AT ALL
at this. A lot of people
even lie about what their
Adsense income might be.
But no matter who you
listen to, EVERYONE will
tell you a few things that
you should NOT do with
Adsense. These will not
only get you banned off of
Adsense, thus destroying
your money-making ability,
but these will get you
laughed at if you try to go
onto HubPages or forums
later on and ask why you
got banned.
So what should you NOT
do on Adsense?
1: Do NOT click your own
ads. Sorry, but you are NOT
smarter than Google, and
they WILL catch you clicking
your own ads, First of all,
they can track your IP
address. Even if you're on a
different IP address, they
can track click patterns.
Second of all, it's just plain
morally wrong to do. You
are stealing money from
advertisers, and driving
down CPC across the board
if you do this, because
more worthless clicks =
cheaper clicks = everyone
loses money. INCLUDING
YOU, if you should
somehow manage to get
Google to unban your
account.
2: DO NOT draw any
attention to your ads by
any means besides the ads
themselves. Do not write
your viewers to click your
ads, ANYWHERE on the
page. Do not put images
next to your ads (legal
exception: putting an
image-only Adsense ad unit
next to a text-only ad unit,
as far as I know.) Do not
use images to draw
attention to your ads. Do
not hide parts of your ads
behind anything in an
effort to trick users into
accidentally giving your ads
clicks. All of these will get
you booted from Adsense.
3: DO NOT put your ads on
sites with either
pornographic content, or
MFA (made for adsense)
pages. Not only will you
not get quality traffic or
advertisements, but Google
will boot you right off of
the Adsense service if you
do this. Again, you are not
smarter than Google.
Not only are these all
against the rules of
Adsense, but they just plain
make your page look
spammy, and visitors will
not want a spammy page.
They'll bail on your page
right away, and they WILL
NOT click your ads. Instead,
be legit, make some good
content, and be smart
about the way you put
your pages together. Legit
clicks = money. Illegit clicks
= no money. Don't be
stupid with this.
